The Sophos Virtual Web Appliances provide complete web protection, a streamlined management experience and broad deployment flexibility in virtual environments. Available for download via the VMware Virtual Appliance Marketplace. The new Virtual Web Appliances can be set up in minutes, easily offering Sophos' hardware security capabilities to businesses of any size.

VMware has announced that SAP has selected the VMware cloud infrastructure and management platform for one of its internal global IT modernization and reorganization projects designed to more effectively support business demand. The SAP IT group has been using VMware technology as one of its underlying virtualization technologies and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) architectures for tailored products, enabling SAP IT's internal customers to be more responsive, improve efficiency and control costs across its internal service offerings.

Today at VMworld 2011 Europe, Mitel a leading provider of Unified Communications (UC) software solutions, will demonstrate a significant technical advancement designed to considerably increase the already growing deployment of desktop virtualization for IT departments. VMware has announced the expansion of its VMware Ready Program for partners providing desktop virtualization solutions based on VMware View. The new VMware Ready Desktop Solutions Program provides customers validated desktop virtualization solution architectures that meet VMware's functional and scalability requirements and are delivered by qualified VMware solution providers.

Ericom Software, has announced the availability of a beta version of a patent-pending HTML5 client for VMware View – the first VDI solution to work  natively with Chrome, Safari and other browsers with HTML5 and WebSocket support. The solution does not require Java, Flash, Silverlight or any other underlying technology.

VMware has agreed with Terremark to purchase 4 million shares at $5 per share, which will see total investment of $20million. The $20million investment will give VMware a 5% share in Terremark.

Atos Origin an international IT services company, received the prestigious innovation award 'EMEA North Partner Award 2008 for most innovative use of virtual infrastructure' at the 2009 VMworld event in Cannes. This award was given to Atos Origin in recognition of its innovative use of VMWare technology across its customer base.
