Open Kernel Labs (OK Labs) Announced Support for New Kingfisher Processor from ARM
Open Kernel Labs (OK Labs) has announced support for the newly introduced Kingfisher processor from ARM. The OKL4 Microvisor is immediately available for the Kingfisher simulator and will support Kingfisher processors as they roll out from ARM Ltd and ARM licensees.
Together, OKL4 and Kingfisher target mobile/wireless devices, including smartphones, "super phones" and tablets, as well as servers/blades and other form factors and applications for them. To support Kingfisher, OK Labs is applying the native capabilities of the OKL4 Microvisor to meet the always on, always connected requirements presented by these varied devices and applications.
VMware Joins Strategic Partnership With Samsung to Virtualize Mobile Devices
VMware has announced a new strategic collaboration with Samsung to deliver virtual desktops to mobile devices and enable a new class of dual persona mobile devices. The companies intend to collaborate by integrating both VMware View, the industry's leading desktop virtualization platform, and VMware Horizon Mobile (both announced this week) with Samsung mobile devices, including Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1 and 8.9 -- delivering a new way to work for customers that enables seamless and secure use of employee-owned IT devices for accessing both work and personal data.
OK Labs Mobile Virtualization Platform Selected by KONGSBERG
Open Kernel Labs (OK Labs), provider of embedded virtualization software for mobile and connected devices, has announced that KONGSBERG, Norway’s premier supplier of defense and aerospace-related systems, has selected OK Labs mobile/embedded virtualization technology and will license OKL4 for deployment in secure communications equipment.
OKL4 Mobile Virtualization Is Ready For ARM Cortex-A15 Processor

ST-Ericsson and Infineon Selected VirtualLogix VLX for Mobile Chipsets
VirtualLogix’s VLX virtualization software for mobile handsets was selected by ST-Ericsson for its new low cost Android-Ready smartphone platform, Infineon Technologies Mobile handsets. ST-Ericsson and VirtualLogix are in the second year of their partnerhip in incorporating VLX into ST-Ericsson reference platform. VirtualLogix has also confirmed that, working with Infineon they have successfully integrate and test VLX software with an Infineon mobile handset reference platform.
VirtualLogix Launched VLX MH4.0
VirtualLogix this week launched version 4.0 of its VirtualLogix VLX mobile platform software. VLX is a virtualization application software for mobile handsets; it works by creating operating system and hardware platform independence, as well as enhanced device security and improved performance for multimedia and gaming applications, VLX is a key enabler of the latest ARM-based consumer devices.
