Novell has announced the availability of Novell ZENworks Application Virtualization 9. This latest release leverages a unique approach to application harvesting that enables enterprise IT staff to tap into a library of trusted resources and find the best stored version to build the necessary virtual application dynamically. By harvesting work that has already been done, IT users can scan a target endpoint and quickly build a set of needed virtual applications, saving time and ensuring quality.

VMware and Novell announced an expansion to their strategic partnership with an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement through which VMware will distribute and support the SUSE Linux Enterprise Server operating system. Under the agreement, VMware also intends to standardize its virtual appliance-based product offerings on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.

Citrix and Novell have agreed to collaborate on Linux Virtualization platform through the virtualization compatibility program from Novell.  Novell has certified Citrix Xenserver as a host platform for it SUSE Linux Enterprise Server.  The partnership means that customers who want to run SUSE Linux as a guest on XenServer can do so with the assurance that they will get support from both Novell and Citrix. Both companies said the collaboration will expand the choice for customers through increase virtualization interoperability.

Two weeks after the release of Novell ZENworks Application Virtualization 7, Xenocode announced today the release of its latest version of application virtualization technology to Novell. The system has been release so that Novell customers those want it in house and service providers can take advantage of the new features in Novell ZENworks Application Virtualization 7.
