About VirtualComputing.Net

My name is Patrick Oliphant co-founder of virtulcomputing.net. I have been working with virtualization (VMware) for more than 6 years now (more than 10 years IT experience). I first had a glimpse of virtualization at a technology conference when it was working on Windows NT as a desktop system. I dismissed it at the time because I was interested in something else (software development). In 2003 I came across virtualization again through ESX 2 server (bigger and better this time); I was now ready and so I embraced the technology.
Back then I saw the potential of the system and virtualization as a whole and developed a deep interest in the technology. In 2005 we started virtualcomputing.net. It started first as a forum but did not worked out – I think it was before its time; so we took it down and started with something else to what you see today - "a website dedicated virtualization".
Through virtualcomputing.net we share our views and news about virtualization through feeds and articles. We have also collated a list of virtualization tools and virtualization resources e.g case studies and whitepapers that are available for free* on the internet. There is also our events section which list upcoming virtualization events or with some virtualization flavour.
I currently work as a Senior System Analyst in London (UK) you can contact me here:
