This month LG Electronics will release its new SmartVine N-series monitors with embedded virtualization. The new system will allow the monitors to function as virtual computers allowing multiple users to use the system at the same time.
The new liquid crystal display SmartVine N-series monitors with embedded virtualization technology is in collaboration with NComputing. Up to 11 users can connect a keyboard and mouse directly to the monitor, which will in turn connect to a standard PC. A single PC will cost about $3,000.

Open Kernel, a leading embedded virtualization software provider announced the release of their OK:Android an off-the-shelf paravirtualized version of the Android smartphone platform.
The OK:Android will operate in a secure environment on top of the OKL4 (OK Labs mobile phone virtualization platform) microvisior. This security allowing the OK:Andriod to operate as a guest operating system.
OK:Android gives handset manufacturers (OEMs) a short path to developing and delivering new designs with Android. “OK Labs virtualization technology already ships in over 300 million mobile handsets, including Android-based devices where OKL4 runs on the baseband processor.”

It enables IT staff to easily automate, secure and streamline thousands of complex and logical data workflows, as well as business processes. MOVEit Central Enterprise automatically “pulls, processes and pushes” files among all platforms, network architectures, operating systems and protocols.
MOVEit Central Enterprise 7.0 Features:

VMware has agreed with Terremark to purchase 4 million shares at $5 per share, which will see total investment of $20million. The $20million investment will give VMware a 5% share in Terremark.

Vizioncore released version 4.0 of its vRanger Pro 4.0 DPP (Data Protection Platform). The new version is said to incorporate major next-generation advances over previous versions and builds on Vizioncore's heritage as a leading force in the virtualization market. With quantum leaps in scalability, built-in intelligence and advanced functionality, vRanger Pro 4.0 DPP is designed to enable enterprises of all sizes to easily and reliably protect their critical data held on virtual machines (VMs).
vRanger Pro 4.0 DPP will be released in three phases during the next year, adding further functionalities with each iteration. Features in this initial release include:
- Flexible backup and restore options - full, incremental or differential
- Instant File Level Restore
- Backup and restore to/from SFTP and CIFS repositories
- Reduced backup window by using all available ESX hosts to perform multiple simultaneous backups

You might have read in previous article about Citrix and Intel partnership. According to the virtualization report by David Marshall Citrix announced at Synergy 2009 that the partnership has born fruit and they – Citrix and Intel will be releasing their XenClient for free.
Like the server version XenServer which was released as a free product a few months back. According to David the new product is to be the host system rather than be hosted by another software such as windows. See the full article here. |
